Geopictorial maps created by award winning artist
Jean-Louis Rheault of Montreal.

Since 1979, Rheault has done map illustrations around the world, including many cities and towns of British Columbia. His extensive portfolio features famous destinations such as The Grand Canyon, Singapore, The Okanagan Valley, Santa Fe, Alaska and Dubai.  Many corporations, universities and government agencies have commissioned his work to educate the public, promote a destination, attract industry and orient visitors.

Pictorial cartography is a centuries-old art-form of bird’s-eye-view perspectives. Regular maps focus on the accurate rendition of distances, however pictorial maps enhance landmarks and landscapes with an interplay of different scales into one encompassing image. It gives the viewer a real feeling of place and recognition.

Illustrated maps have always maintained a universal appeal.
‘If a picture is worth a thousand words’, Rheault says. ‘a good pictorial map is worth a thousand pictures.’
